Harold Brown, brother of Leesburg Brown-Carrera partner Bob Brown, is himself a partner in the historic Bachrach Photography company. Bachrach Photography, founded by David Bachrach in 1868, has a tradition of photographing famous personalities from the United States and worldwide. They have photographed every President from Andrew Johnson to George H. W. Bush, as well as historic figures like Amelia Earheart, Albert Einstein and Charles Limbaugh. With studios currently in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Alexandria, Harold Brown is presently considering opening a studio in Leesburg, where he has a residence. The historic work of Bachrach Photography is on display during May's First Friday at 14. South King Street (across from Caulkins, beside The Cooley Gallery). The portraits of local celebrities, like Mayor Umstattd and Stanley Caulkins are on display. An amazing chance to walk through history as well as view portraits of Leesburg's notables. |
