This story is about all that is right in Leesburg's business community.

October 1, 2010 was a busy evening in Leesburg's historic downtown.  Not only was it a beautiful night for Leesburg's First Friday, but two local businesses had chosen the date to celebrate their openings with back-to-back ribbon cuttings.

King Street Coffee, located at 110 S. King Street, was scheduled to cut at 5:30pm.  Loudoun Cares, just a bit further south and across the street at 209 S. King, was scheduled for 6:00pm. Two businesses, are so dissimilar in mission, yet united in their plans to keep historic buildings useful in service to the community.

King Street Coffee has taken over the building used for years by the Coffee Bean. Owner Kimberly Nevin has combined the best of the old Coffee Bean and breathed a new vitality and style.  The decor is fresh, rocking chairs on the porch and seats under the tree make for a very inviting oasis to sip one's coffee and enjoy life.

Loudoun Cares, which serves to make non-profits more efficient by providing an umbrella of organization and administration, is currently renovating the old Coca-Cola bottling plant on South King. While housing several non-profits in space behind the cinderblock building at 209, they are undertaking an extensive, expensive renovation of the old plant. This renovation not only provides needed space but will also help anchor South King Street.

The Town of Leesburg is a wonderful place to locate a business.  The quality of life is unbeatable, town services and utilities more than sufficient. The icing on the cake though is for businesses that can locate in the historic district. There simply is no better community of hard working entrepreneurs.
