Ladies Board Rummage Sale

As you can see, the Ladies Board at INOVA Loudoun has been hosting their rummage for 72 years now.  This signature Leesburg event is held at the Morven Park Equestrian Center and has literally tens of thousands of donated items in carefully organized departments in indoor spaces covering 40,000 sq. feet. This year they raised $150,000!

From the Ladies' Board website (http://www.ladiesboard.org) their mission statement reads:

The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital is a Leesburg-based non-profit organization whose mission is to promote goodwill between the Hospital and the community and to raise funds for nursing scholarships, patient services and special projects.

To the hundreds of volunteers who make this possible...Thank you, and we hope to enjoy the rummage sale for decades to come! (photos & text by Gary Dickens, Nov 2010)

These two characters have been volunteering at the Rummage Sale for decades. Joyce flies in from Arizona every year to help and keep up with old friends.
The main event, full of clothes, furniture, antiques, Christmas decor, you name it... is held in the main indoor equestrian ring.

Look carefully as you puruse the offerings.  There might be van Gogh or Strasburg hiding amongst the cast iron.
The sale occupies the entire indoor equestrian complex at Morven Park.  The directory board lists 24 buildings of sale items, organized into departments to make your shopping efficient.

Years ago, Margaret Vaughn was my extremely patient Algebra teacher at Loudoun Valley High School. These days she can be found continuing to serve the community, including the Ladies Board Rummage Sale.
The Music Department...no doubt Gary Winstanley of Melodee Music has already checked it over closely. Sorry Gary, I got the Les Paul Goldtop.
