The Town of Leesburg is committed to honoring those who died for our nation by conducting a respectful, moving ceremony every Memorial Day. The historic downtown is blocked off so that traffic will not disturb the Court House Square events. In 2010 the Special Guest Speaker was Army Major Joe Grable with Mayor Umstattd also speaking.

Afterwards, there was an unrelated ceremony at Union Cemetery at the monument to the Unknown Confederate soldiers buried in two separate sections.  The two slides at the end are from that service.
